Warning of Risks of Participating in Karate Classes


1. Students should warm up carefully and properly, before or at the start of class, so that they are prepared to participate in more strenuous activities. If you arrive late you should warn up for at least 10 minutes before joining in.
2. Care should be taken to avoid injury to yourself or your training partner in any partner exercises.
3. No contact should be made during kumite (sparring), and there should be an emphasis on correct technique and control.
4. One of the key philosophies to observe in Karate training is self-control and self-discipline.


LEARNING AND PRACTICING MARTIAL ARTS AND SELF DEFENSE IS INHERENTLY DANGEROUS AND COULD RESULT IN SERIOUS BODILY INJURY AND/OR DEATH. ALL PARTICIPANTS ACKNOWLEDGE THE RISKS AND EXPRESSLY AGREE TO ASSUME THOSE RISKS.
