Budo
Way of the warrior, Martial Arts. The character 'Bu' is made up of the characters with the meaning 'to stop' and (a weapon like) a 'hellebaard', what gives the character the meaning of "avoiding violence".

'Place of the way' - Japanese training-place; the tradition dictates to bow in the direction of the front of the Dojo (Shomen) when one enters or leaves the dojo

Naha-te
Art of the hand as it was practiced in the city of Naha in Okinawa, finally this became Goju-ryu Obi Belt
Okinawa 'An in the water thrown rope', the largest island and capital of the Ryukyu archiple. Okinawa lies 550km southeast of Japan, and 740km east of China, it is approximately 10km wide and 110km long. The largest cities Naha, Shuri, and Tomari gave their names to the unarmed fighting styles which were teached in those cities

'Respect', synonymous for the bowing to show respect.
Tradition dictates that the junior person or the person with the lower degree or the person who is a guest bows lower than the other person

Senpai
the status sometimes given to a older/higher assistant by the Sensei of a dojo. Generally the Senpai also trains himself to become a Sensei

Sensei
Instructor Shibucho Chief-instructor of a country or continent.
The Japanese character "sen" means "ahead" or "before." The character "sei" has the essence of many meanings-"life,"
"birth," "pure," "genuine."

If the two characters are put together,they form the word "sensei," which is poorly translated as "teacher," and yet it is the title given to those people who demand great respect.
