"Introduce your child to Japanese history & tradition, and to the customs of manners & courtesy towards others."

Australian Goju Kai Karate places the powerful insights of history and tradition at your Child's fingertips. They will come to understand the importance of practicing etiquette at all times—-not just inside the Dojo—-and will be guided to become spiritually in touch with themselves and the world around them.

Australian Goju Kai Karate prides itself on incorporating as

much traditional Japanese training practices and culture into its programs as possible. Students will become accustomed to Japanese language & symbols used with Karate training instructions, techniques, and Kata routines. They will also be given an understanding of the spiritual philosophies that drive Karate.

When training, students will be required to show respect in the Karate Dojo at all times by adhering themselves to the rules and customs of traditional Japanese Karate& culture. Actions include the removal of shoes, and bowing before entering the Dojo.

"Respect can be demonstrated by words, but more importantly respect must be demonstrated by actions."

Students must humble themselves and show respect to their Instructor and their peers before they are deemed worthy to learn. Meditation is practiced first in a class, to calm all students down and embrace the Dojo as 'one'.

Soon, a 'bow-in ceremony' follows, as a way for students to show their courtesy and respect for previous Goju Kai Masters, to their Instructor, and finally to their fellow students.
